protocols to safely manage damaged EVs as they progress from intake
to dismantling or extended storage. These protocols should focus on
documentation, proper isolation, and adherence to safety measures.

• Verify the Vehicle’s Condition: • Gather Critical Information: • Communicate with the tow operator to gather incident details, including: • The nature of the damage. • Any hidden risks, such as internal battery leaks or compromised wiring. • Collect any documentation provided by the vehicle owner, seller, or towing company. • Record All Details in the Inventory: • Log the vehicle in the facility’s inventory system as a “HIGH-VOLTAGE” vehicle. Vehicle Intake and Documentation • Use VIN decoding and other resources to confirm the vehicle’s make, model,
and high-voltage system specifications.
• Assess any visible damage, signs of battery distress, or indicators of residual energy. • Include all relevant safety considerations, such as isolation protocols, initial inspection
results, and risk assessment findings.
