When managing complex recoveries, selecting the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is critical to ensuring the safety of response teams and preventing exposure to hazardous materials. The type of PPE required will depend on the specific risks associated with the recovery, such as the presence of high voltage, chemical exposure, or fire damage.

Follow your company Health & Safety Program guidance and protocols for evaluating the level of risk at the recovery site and select your PPE accordingly.  Below are some examples of recommended PPE for each escalating level of risk.  However, the list is not exhaustive, and you may require additional items for your unique recovery scenario.
